The Hook Sentence is the first sentence in your essay and should grab the reader’s attention so that they want to continue reading your essay. The more interested your teacher is in your essay, the higher the grade you will obtain. The hook must also be related to the main idea / topic / theme of your essay and it should positively support your opinion.
